Polygeia Statement on the #BlackLivesMatter Movement

Polygeia stands in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement during these difficult times. We condemn police brutality in the US and elsewhere.

As a student-led global health think-tank, we are keenly aware of how systemic discrimination and racism disproportionately affects health outcomes for minority groups. We are also grateful for an incredible diversity of researchers who have brought their expertise to projects looking at these issues. We strongly value the principles of diversity, openness and fairness in our community.

We encourage members of Polygeia and the public to use this time to reflect, educate, donate and advocate for systemic change to empower Black communities, and as an extension other minoritised groups.
